Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we store your name, email address and, if you set one, a profile picture. If you register with a password we store a cryptographic hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google we store your Google account identifier and the basic profile information Google returns.

Content and site data you give us

We store the content you create or upload — articles, drafts, titles, keywords and metadata — along with details about your business and the websites you ask us to work on. When you use a tool such as the rank checker, page-speed check, crawler or plagiarism scanner, we store the URL or text you submitted and the result, so you can see your history and track changes over time.

Technical information

For each active login session we record the IP address and browser user-agent used, to secure accounts and let you identify unfamiliar sessions. We also keep server logs of requests and errors.

Analytics and cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in. These are essential — without them the product cannot work. We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads tags to understand how the site is used and to measure advertising, and a Crisp chat widget for support, which sets its own cookies. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser, though some features may degrade.

How we use your information

• To provide the product: generating content, running SEO checks and storing results
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure
• To respond to support requests
• To understand usage and improve the product
• To send service messages such as password resets and account notices
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you create to train our own models.

Service providers we share data with

RankUp is built on third-party infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf, and only as needed to run the service:

• Microsoft Azure (Azure OpenAI) and Google (Gemini) — generating and editing content. Prompts and the content being worked on are sent to these services.
• Google — sign-in, the Google Ads API for keyword data, and Analytics and Ads measurement tags.
• SerpApi — retrieving search-result positions for the rank checker.
• Neon — hosted PostgreSQL database.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• Crisp — live chat support.

These providers operate in various countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live.

Google user data

The only Google access we ask of you is Sign in with Google, and only if you choose it instead of a password. It gives us your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. We use these to create and authenticate your account, and nothing else. We do not read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts, and we never post anything to your Google account.

Keyword research does not use your Google account. It runs through a Google Ads account owned by Scorp Tech, shared across the service. You do not need a Google Ads account, and we never access one belonging to you.

RankUp's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. If you signed in with Google, you can revoke our access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Data retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your personal information and content, except where we are required to keep records to meet a legal obligation. Login session records expire automatically.

Security

Connections are encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Third-party credentials we store on your behalf are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and will notify you of a breach affecting your data where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can access and correct most of your information from your account settings. You may also ask us to export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

Children

RankUp is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We will revise the date at the top, and for significant changes we will notify you in the product or by email.
